WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We are located in Helena, Alabama. Approximately 20 miles south of Birmingham and centralized to Montevallo, Calera, Alabaster, Pelham, Hoover and other surrounding areas. We are conveniently just on the outskirts of the main drag in Helena directly on Highway 17, approximately a mile and a half past Publix and Walmart Marketplace.
HOW MUCH DOES A PARTY COST?
A party is an all-inclusive $350. This means you show up with your food, cake, and paper products and the rest is done for you! Venue, entertainment, AND decorations!
CAN I DECORATE ON MY OWN?
You do not have to use our decorations at all. You are more than welcome to use our decorations as a base and add to them with your own personalized touches, or you can arrive to a bare barn and start from scratch. Your preference! Just remember--each party is allowed 30 minutes of setup time.
HOW LONG DOES A PARTY LAST?
As long as you'd like! Although we advertise in 2-hour time slots, a party can be booked for longer increments at the rate of $100 per additional hour. *Should you decide to book our middle of the day time slots, the 1:00-3:00 or 4:00-6:00, adding additional time will result in purchasing two full reservations. However time may be added to the beginning of a 10:00-12:00 slot to begin your event at 9:00 or the end of a 5:00-7:00 slot to end your event at 10:00 for the additional $100 per hour.
IS THERE A LIMIT ON NUMBER OF GUESTS?
No! Did you hear that? No limit on kids and no additional cost for adding a few more!
WHAT KIND OF SEATING DO YOU OFFER?
We currently have 4 6-seater picnic tables (which can host at least 8-10 small children each) that are included in your decoration package and 8 6-seater picnic tables that are left bare all inside the barn. There are also several bare picnic tables within the barnyard, which is the grassy outdoor area around the barn.
WILL THERE BE ANYONE THERE TO HELP ME?
Yes! You will be greeted by a Helena Hollow employee when you arrive to the Party Barn. She/he will take your final payment (due by cash, check, or Venmo only) and will help you set up. HH Staff will stay hands off unless asked to assist. This became our practice during COVID, and we still implement it today as a way to respect your foods and personal belongings. Please ask for help if you'd like it! Our staff loves to be a part of your setup. During your party, HH staff is only there to observe the animals and see to it that animals are respectful of guests and vice versa. He/she will assist in the feeding of the animals and will be there to answer any questions that may arise as well as help with any problems that guests could encounter. HH staff should not be expected to direct any games or control the schedule of your party--we are not this kind of venue!
CAN I ARRIVE EARLY TO SET UP MY THINGS?
Yes you can! We allow each party to arrive 30 minutes before set party time and don't require them to be done and cleaned up 30 minutes after their party has ended. This means that if you book a 10-12 time slot, the farm is technically reserved for your use from 9:30-12:30. Ten minutes before the conclusion of your party, your Helena Hollow staff member will begin cleaning up as a way to make the cleaning process easier, but also as a way to give your guests a hint that things are coming to a close.
*We do ask that ONLY the hosting family arrive early, as the animals will not be supervised by an employee until party start time.
WHAT IS A PARTY AT HELENA HOLLOW LIKE?
A party at our farm is exactly like giving your children and his or her friends a taste of what it's like to grow up on a farm. The only portion of a Helena Hollow Farm party that is monitored and directed by our staff is the feeding of the animals...which is done whenever you are ready!
There is no schedule and no set series of events. The animals are stalled and remain present and accessible for the entire 2-hour duration. Children can run freely in the grassy barnyard area and play with any of our several yard games.
WHAT ENTERTAINMENT IS OFFERED?
Our animals are our most important entertainment. Feeding the animals takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Petting them and enjoying them can take as long as you'd like.
We also offer a Jumbo Jenga set and corn hole boards.
DO YOU DO EVENTS OTHER THAN BIRTHDAY PARTIES?
Absolutely! We do all sorts of events here at the farm. No celebration is out of the question. We've hosted baby showers, wedding showers, family reunions, corporate events, meet & greets, concerts, and the list goes on!
WHAT DOES THE VENUE LOOK LIKE?
Our venue is a 3,000 square foot pole barn. Please realize 3,000 is bigger than most 3 bedroom/ 2 bath garden homes. It's BIG! All 4 sides are enclosed and protected from the elements, however the barn does host 4 12-foot sliding barn doors and 8 large windows so nice weather can be enjoyed under the shade of our tin roof. 8 ceiling fans keep the barn a significant amount cooler in the summer, and 4 electric heaters to keep things warmer in the winter months. Parties are not dependent on perfect weather conditions and is not grounds for cancellation.
IS THERE A RESTROOM?
Of course there is! Located conveniently beside the barn.
DOES THE BARN HAVE ELECTRICITY?
CAN I SERVE ALCOHOL AT MY EVENT?
Alcohol may be served upon the purchase of alcohol liability insurance. This can be purchased by you, the client. from www.wedsure.com for approximately $150 depending on the time frame of your party. There are stipulations to the policy that are required by us, so please do not purchase this insurance without calling Helena Hollow to discuss in detail first. 205-541-8150.
